ABSTRACT

At the time of the case study (1993-1994) presented in this chapter, Belgium had no legal enforcement focusing on the psycho-social health risks at the workplace. However, since the Belgian Minister for Labour and Employment took office in 1991, it was clear that stress in the workplace was to be one of her policy pr ior ities. Several studies were car r ied out by the Belgian government in order to collect data on this matter.
