ABSTRACT

It is difficult to identify specific political interventions to do with stress in the workplace in Italy that are both global and effective, though there are local services, co-ordinated by the national health system, particularly concerned with working conditions and risk factors. In the past, the national unions have collaborated in some pilot studies aimed at a deeper comprehension of stress factors with relation to the working conditions of specific professionals, such as bus-drivers, pilots and workers under thermal stress risk (for example, in glass works) (Bagnara and Rizzo, 1990; Strambi, 1991; Strambi et al., 1991).
