ABSTRACT
The role of women in the transformation of cities remains theoretically problematic. While women’s leadership in organizations rebuilding communities and neighborhoods and their creation of new paradigms for monumentality are
sometimes noted in the press, these interventions have yet to inform cultural discourse in the design disciplines or in the history and theory of art and architecture.
