ABSTRACT
The objectives of this chapter are to introduce the concepts of tandem mass spectrometry (MS-MS) for the identification of metabolites, to consider the role of isotopically labelled compounds in identifying metabolites and to consider some practical aspects and limitations of the mass spectrometric techniques used for metabolite identification.
