ABSTRACT

The increasing use of multimedia distance learning (MDL) technology for training delivery has been well documented (Bassi and Van Buren, 1999). As organizations and educational institutions become more global, a distinct advantage of MDL technology is that it enables trainers to deliver training programs simultaneously to a number of different sites worldwide. Proponents of MDL technology note that this practice reduces the cost of trainers and training facilities (Rand, 1996) and allows for the delivery of training programs to individuals at sites that might not otherwise receive these programs.
