ABSTRACT
This chapter begins with a quantitative overview of the development of the Indonesian automobile industry, while the second section offers an analysis of the most important governmental policies for the industry, with particular emphasis on the question of technology transfer. The fourth section investigates the role Japanese producers in Indonesia play in technology transfer.
