ABSTRACT

This chapter explores young people’s perceptions of their worries and problems, their negotiations, coping strategies and their help-seeking behaviour. It considers the contingent and contextual nature of young people’s worries and their responses to them, including how they cope with them and to whom, if anyone, they turn for help. Such understandings can contribute to the provision of advice and help for young people which reflects their experience and is better tailored to their needs.
