ABSTRACT
The study of local weather hazards and their effects on road traffic is of ever-increasing concern in the design and planning of new roads and motorways. Accurate knowledge of the spectrum of climatic conditions which are likely to be experienced on new roads is necessary to ensure the safety of eventual road users and to ensure that the road is economically viable.
