ABSTRACT
In cold regions, blowing snow may create hazardous conditions for travellers. In certain terrain, roads may become impassable and even with the most modern highway design some vision problems and snow-drift accumulation may occur. This is a distinct problem for highway engineers as today's drivers expect a clear roadway, and object to the delays and unsafe conditions associated with blowing snow.
