ABSTRACT

Two insecticides were applied separately to a 10 m radius plot of ‘Penncross’ creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds.) in order to determine levels of dislodgeable and volatile residues. Source flux was estimated using the Theoretical Profile Shape (TPS) Method. The effect of post-application irrigation on residue dissipation was assessed. Maximum residue levels were compared to published dermal and inhalation “no-effect” values. As judged by this preliminary comparison, golfer exposure to airborne and dermal residues are deemed within safe levels, except in selected situations.
