ABSTRACT
The ability to achieve wide scale integration of construction information and data, often referred to as computer integrated construction (CIC), is finally approaching reality due to continued advances, and cost reductions, in computing hardware and software technologies. In addition enabling methodologies relating to information modelling, requirement analyses, interface design, CASE tools, etc., are also now developed to a point where they can be applied successfully and with demonstrable benefits.
