ABSTRACT
Little evidence exists to support the claimed benefits relating to certified quality management systems in professional firms. This chapter details one aspect of a research study undertaken by the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) to survey the experiences of firms who have implemented systems to comply with BS 5750. The findings reported here are concerned with the measurement of benefits. While the research has yielded few clear-cut conclusions, it has provided insights into particular areas of management systems which firms believe have provided benefits.
