ABSTRACT
Recently, several far-reaching political decisions have been made in Europe as well as in Asia and elsewhere, which will fundamentally transform the landscape in the fields of engineering and the law on a global scale. With the extension and formation of the European Union and the introduction of a product liability law in Japan numerous changes in technology and law will become apparent.
