ABSTRACT

A management contract is different from a maintenance contract. For example, if casual swimming is reducing in popularity over the years, perhaps increased fun sessions are needed. But is the reduction in popularity due to the inefficiency of the contractor, or some national pattern? Managing a leisure centre, sports hall, swimming pool and the like requires careful and constant assessment of customer requirements. People’s use of leisure time changes continually. Each year brings its own particular fashion or craze. This affects the environment in which the contract is operating, and in turn affects both client and contractor.
