Requirements Appliances should be impervious, quiet in operation, easy to clean and maintain, and of a convenient shape, size and height. They should provide for the removal of contents quickly and completely; overfl ows should be adequate to deal with maximum infl ow. Wastes and overfl ows should be screened against entry of anything that may cause obstruction.
