Notes concerning fl ue design 1. Use independent fl ue for each incinerator and allow the manufacturers recommended
distance beneath the appliance. 2. Minimum vertical height of fl ue measured from top of appliance=2.7 m. 3. Use vertical length of metal fl ue pipe (0.6 to 0.9 m) directly onto the appliance, then
a change of direction can be made if required. 4. Bends and horizontal runs reduce the ‘pull’, so for preference the appliance should be
fi xed on or near an external wall or duct. 5. Horizontal runs should be not more than 1/3 of the vertical lift with a maximum of 3
m. Use obtuse bends (with access for periodic cleaning). Rule of thumb allowances-allow 0.3 metre extra height per bend, and ditto for each .15 m horizontal run.
