The terms used in BS.5572 to describe the various parts of above-ground drainage are also used in the BRE Digests 248 and 249 (1981) Sanitary pipework-Part 1 Design basis; Part 2-Design of pipework. For larger or more complicated systems needing ventilating pipework, reference should be made to the BS.
