ABSTRACT

In July 1899 there was an anonymous rendition of “D’amor passaggero” on Gramophone Co. (#57351) made in Naples. Two Neapolitan mandolinists made 11 Gramophone discs in Naples in 1900: Professor Giandolfi and Professor Pallavicini; among the latter’s performances were “Polka con variazioni” (#57358) and “Trionfo mandolinistico” (#57361). Guido Volpe recorded one side for G & T in London, “Sylvia Ballet:Pizzicato” (#37350; 1902).
