ABSTRACT

Italian soprano, also mezzo-soprano. Her debut was at Lisbon in 1883. In 1894 she sang at the Bolshoi Opera, as Mantelli-Mantovani, then toured Russia with Francesco Tamagno. She was at the Metropolitan Opera in 1894-1900 and in 1902-1903. Bettini recorded four numbers by her in 1899. She also worked for Zonophone ca. 1905. IRCC reissued four of the arias made at that time on a seven-inch LP (#7007; 1955); “Una voce poco fa” is perhaps the most distinguished of that group.
