ABSTRACT

With an educational background mainly involving telecommunications, Pellowe joined Decca Records in 1974, and trained for a recording engineer career under the direction of one of the great engineering masters, Kenneth Wilkinson. He started recording and mixing session tapes in 1978, and went on to develop a successful partnership with James Lock, who had succeeded Wilkinson as chief engineer at Decca. In addition to working with opera and classical music, Pellowe also has mixed a number of pop-music albums, and has become adept at mixing multichannel surround sound.
