ABSTRACT
Another name for vertical cut, the process of inscribing sound signals on record surfaces through an up and down movement of the cutting stylus.
A vertical-cut record issued by the Phono-Cut Record Co. of Boston, a subsidiary of the Boston Talking Machine Co., ca. 1912. The label was sold to a Mr. Keen in 1913, and became Keen-o-phone.
