ABSTRACT
A light-ray system of sound recording, invented by Charles A. Hoxie, based on experiments of Alexander Graham Bell in 1879. The Bell concept was not practical at the time, because electronic amplification was not yet available. The principle was later adapted by General Electric for the Brunswick Pallatrope system of 1925.
