ABSTRACT
The transferral of signal information from one portion of a magnetic tape to another portion, with the effect of simultaneous playback of the transferred signal and the signal already present. This is a major problem of the format, arising from the tight winding of tape on its reel, tape coercivity, or temperature aberrations. Thickness of the base is an important factor also.
