RENAUD, MAURICE [ARNOLD] (24 JULY 1861–16 OCT 1933)

French bass-baritone, born in Bordeaux. He studied in Paris and Brussels, and sang at the Monnaie from 1883-1890. Then he was with the opéra-comique in Paris, 1890-1891, and the opéra in 1891-1902. He was a favorite at the Manhattan Opera from 1906 to 1909, then had a season in Chicago, and was at the Metropolitan Opera in 1910-1912. He was heard in about 60 operas. He died in Paris.
