Teachers typically have two distinct perceptions of their roles: visionaries who have created models in their minds of how classes might be, and followers who expect others to tell them what to do and how to do it. These contrasting perspectives influence much of what happens in classrooms. Let’s consider the experiences of the visionaries first.
