ABSTRACT
The post-war period has ended, but in a manner different from that envisioned in 1989. Images are emerging which have not been seen in Europe since 1945: signs of massacres, refugee treks, tent cities, children whose parents are missing wandering around, destroyed bridges over the Danube, burning oil refineries.
