ABSTRACT
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the single most common cause of death in the United Kingdom today (DOH, 2000b). Those affected by the disease face many challenges that profoundly impact on quality of life, future employment and personal relationships. In an attempt to reduce the morbidity associated with the disease, the National Service Framework for CHD has established clear and measurable standards for its prevention and management.
