ABSTRACT

The articles in this brief final section give only the barest hint of the range of Alan Lomax’s activities in the period from 1978 to 1995, when he suffered the first of a series of strokes that forced him to retire. During this time he was active in both the academic and popular spheres as a researcher, writer, field recorder, filmmaker, television producer, lecturer, performer, and multimedia designer. He typically had several projects going at once, and worked full days until his forced retirement at the age of 80.
