ABSTRACT
The educational strategy of Freire provides the methodological framework for the teaching of interpersonal communication skills. While there are differences between Foucault and Freire – for example, understandings of ideology – both involve transgressing the boundaries of positivism and both have inspired a tradition of writers from philosophy, psychology and education – and at last social work – who challenge the restraints imposed by science and humanism.
