ABSTRACT

Much has been written about the subject of transference and countertransference, as I have as well on many occasions. It is only because Robert Oelsner asked me that I decided to contribute to this book. Later, on second thought, I considered that this would give me an opportunity to speak my mind without having to be constrained by the legitimate, balanced views that one has to represent when speaking in the name of various authors. This is, then, my own personal testimony and not a scholarly essay that takes into account the view of others, and therefore I omit citations, quotations, and bibliographic references.
