ABSTRACT

This examination is known to us by a manuscript fragment, in Harley Manuscripts 6848, f. 28 verso. It breaks off at the end of the page and in the middle of a sentence. One explanation is that the remainder has been lost. Again, it is possible that Barrow never finished it. One other possibility is that this sheet—not written by Barrow but conceivably by a cellmate—was seized by the authorities in their rifling of the prisoners’ cells.
