ABSTRACT

The collapse of the Rana Plaza building in Bangladesh, in April 2013, added the names of more than 1,000 men and women to the list of men and women who have been killed in fashion supply chains in the last 10 years. The tragedy focused the world’s attention on working conditions in global fashion supply chains. On a daily basis, workers in global fashion supply chains face pernicious violations of their rights to a living wage, reasonable working hours, a safe working environment free of harassment and abuse and a secure employment relationship, among many others.
