ABSTRACT
As shown in Figure 13.1, the cultural website project began by using the Tshinanu website, the companion website for the Tshinanu (Us Together) television series, as our first original design. We wanted to see if nonaboriginal users could identify with the aboriginal perspectives and traditions presented on the site. The cultural website project also evaluated a second original design, photographs and videos on birch basket making that are materials for an online course on First Nations crafts at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, Canada. This research focused on storytelling and how visual information creates narratives that bridge different cultures.
