ABSTRACT

To create a model of a landscape, the first steps are to learn about the data sources and to acquire geospatial data for the area of interest.

There are a nearly infinite number of ways in which the human mind can subjectively conceptualize a model of the real world, and each results in a different form of geospatial data. To cover some of the most general ways, we can consider the following broad categories: elevation, imagery, vegetation, water, buildings and transportation.
