ABSTRACT
As described in previous chapters, boys with fragile X can display a wide range of behavioural problems including:
• attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity (AD/HD) symptoms • aggressive outbursts • stereotypes (such as hand-flapping and biting) • social anxiety • excessive shyness • some autistic-like features, such as perseveration of speech, tactile defensiveness and
hyper-arousal.
