ABSTRACT

The landscape of mobile media is changing. Denmark is currently witnessing a rapid uptake of so-called smartphones, mobile phones with computer-like capabilities. A recent survey from Gallup Index Denmark 1 conducted with more than 3,500 respondents found that approximately 1.5 million Danes—or more than one-third—own smartphones. A similar finding is reported by Statistics Denmark, 2 which found that in 33% of families (consisting of one or more members) at least one person owns a smartphone.
