ABSTRACT

The National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) has responsibility in the UK for providing advice on restrictions on the exposure of people to electromagnetic fields and radiation. In 1993, NRPB published advice on restricting human exposure to static and time-varying electromagnetic fields and radiation (NRPB, 1993). These restrictions were based on a rigorous assessment of the possible effects on human health derived from biological information, from dosimetric data, and from epidemiological studies of people exposed at work and at home.
