ABSTRACT
To grasp what Karl Marx sees as the essential nature of man is to grasp the reasons why alienation, which he considers a consequence of capitalism, so ultimately destroys what Marx sees as fulfillment for all humans. Every major philosopher grappled with what humans are at their core and essence and what they must understand in order to capture their own ultimate and unfettered end; in that, Marx was certainly no different.
