ABSTRACT

Leading Curriculum Change (LCC) is a Flagship Professional Learning Program commissioned by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). It is an online learning program incorporating a community of practice. Its purpose is to provide those classroom teachers who have key roles in curriculum innovation and change in their schools with the skills and confidence to lead local curriculum change initiatives. The context in which the program was commissioned was the introduction of an Australian Curriculum, a curriculum change challenge itself, the adoption of which is occurring at different rates in different Australian states. The LCC program was designed and developed by a team at the University of Queensland, with the School of Education providing the LCC curriculum and content expertise and the Centre for Innovation in Professional Learning (CIPL) providing the educational architecture and program design expertise.
