ABSTRACT

The increased social inequality and choices in local and national public policies, among other issues, come out as factors of the complex relationship that shapes the Latin American cities in the twenty-first century. Therefore, territorial and economic dynamics of Latin American cities can be best understood through the consideration of the enormous socioeconomical inequity generated from long-standing processes that have maintained a strikingly large gap between rich and poor over the majority of Latin America’s modern history.
