ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the approach that is used in the ‘Little Group’, a special needs nursery for children with complex communication problems, where speech and language therapy is fully integrated into all aspects of work with the children. While this work is currently targeting the pre-school child and the child in the early years of school placement, it is suggested that it has relevance to developing functional communication skills far beyond this age group.
