ABSTRACT
Part of the attracti veness of the accountabilist ideology is its simplicity and reductionism: consequences (high stakes), easy to obtain e vidence (testing), behavioralizing outcomes (or standards and performance…), and laying the whole of the responsibility on the doorsteps of schools as if they existed in a social, political, and economic vacuum.
