ABSTRACT
The 1971 creation of Médecins Sans Frontières (often called MSF or, in the United States, Doctors Without Borders) brought about a small revolution in the world of humanitarianism. The purpose of this chapter is to record how that revolution came about and how it continues today, more than a quarter-century later.
