ABSTRACT

Arguably, no Sub-Saharan African country has in recent years undergone more radical transformations in work and employment issues than Tanzania. These transformations have been brought about by the socio-economic and political changes currently underway in the country. The changes focus on the transition from a socialist, one-party state, to multi-party politics and the accompanying development of a free enterprise economy. In many ways, the socio-economic and political “revolution” has necessitated a complete overhaul of people management policies and practices in Tanzania.
