ABSTRACT

At Contemporary Architecture Practice we explore the relationship between contemporary techniques, culture and architecture. We use techniques of design that are animated, process-driven methods that provide new transformative effects in cultural, social and political production. Such a technique acts on, or influences, an object, which, in turn, modifies human behaviors and technical performance. Techniques have always contributed to the production of human and cultural artifacts, but their refinement and acceleration after the industrial revolution has emerged as the single most important element in the evolution of cultural endeavors.1 Our work seeks to harness the potentials of cultural proliferation, by using animation techniques to simulate the production of new architectural and cultural effects.
