ABSTRACT

T im Wright is a writer and new media producer who has also worked in gamesand online content development. In this interview he discusses the evolution of‘Online Caroline’, a groundbreaking work of fiction and drama, created for the web. The interview places the project in the historical context of the web as it was beginning to evolve in the late 1990s as a place for entertainment, capable of attracting and building audiences. In addition, he addresses how an online creative work of this sort operates in a cultural context but also has to take into account the commercial agenda of the Internet.
