ABSTRACT
Being part of a department that includes students, researchers and teachers, Tim is required to oversee the running of the Interaction Design Studio. Key duties are to set systems and standards to ensure that all the resources, hardware and software are kept to the highest standard and can be used appropriately by staff and students alike. He is also responsible for overseeing all the web work that the studio does, maintaining the server and ensuring that all data for the web, and elsewhere, are backed up and maintained. The students at the college are trained on a Master’s Degree programme and the work that they create for exhibition often requires specialist support that he makes sure is available. The studios also have an important research component investigating new areas of interaction design, and his job also includes working with researchers to make sure that they have the technical facilities that they require.
