ABSTRACT

The purpose of any testing program is to measure the skills and knowledge of the individual who is taking the test. The security program adopted by a testing organization should have two overall goals. The first is to protect the integrity of the testing activities. The second is to preserve and protect data. That portion of any comprehensive security program that addresses physical security has at its heart those actions that can be taken in the physical testing environment to prevent or deter cheating. They encompass the layout of the testing environment, the check-in process and authentication of the identification of the test taker, the actions taken during proctoring or administration of the examination, and preserving and returning the test materials.
