ABSTRACT

This chapter enquires into the possibility of a Global Environmental Organization with special reference to the IUCN and UNEP. The major arguments in favour of a Global Environmental Organization, according to the author, include a coherent emphasis on environmental issues, both internally, i.e. between various environmental organizations like the IUCN, UNEP, etc., and externally vis-à-vis other issue-based international organizations like the WIPO, WTO and WHO, and maybe also with international agencies like the IAEA.
