ABSTRACT
In this pamphlet a local welfare rights organization in Chicago, the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization, informs recipients of their rights to special allowances, shows them how their monthly check is calculated, and offers assistance if they encounter a problem. Numerous welfare rights organizations in the 1960s developed handbooks to translate the rules and regulations of welfare into easy to understand language.
